Wherever I go, I run into amazing women who have opened their hearts to let me help them and their babies. We've struggled, laughed and cried together - the essence of a life worth living! The time has come for me, to help and work with my own family as my 13th grandbaby is born. We as a family sure embody the values that I have hold dear in my practice: giving oneself as a woman to motherhood and reaping the long-lasting rewards of holistically healthy families and generations that stand on the shoulders of mothers who nurture.

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant http://www.ilca.org/i4a/pages/index.cfm?pageid=3337.
I am an advocate for mother-baby bonding and nurturing our children and families.
I have six children, four married, and thirteen grandchildren who are/were all breastfed into toddlerhood.
My Breastfeeing Journey
During the early 1980s, when my first three children were born, I had difficulties, and not knowing of anyone to help me. I was persistent enough to "nurse through the pain". I am so glad I did, but you don't have to do that, we are now blessed with vast scientific knowledge and evidence based resources!
Thinking back I am sad that my first three children were weaned between 6 and 11 months, and with baby no 4 refusing to latch, I providentially discovered La Leche League which was the turning point in my journey as a mother and it established my trajectory as a breastfeeding advocate. I breastfed my last three children for 2 years and beyond, tandem nursed and loved it!
I realized many mothers struggle, just like I did and giving up on issues that could have been solved or at least greatly improved: this encouraged me to specialize in breastfeeding to be that help.
My journey has taken me from Pretoria, South Africa to Steinbach, Manitoba, to Langley Memorial Hospital to my current private practice, having helped mothers and babies thrive for over seventeen years, both in the maternity hospital setting, and caring for mothers in their homes.
